About the event

IMPORTANT:

This ticket is for you and up to three guests to attend the Winter Lunch.

Join us for our Winter Lunch on the Medway Queen, Gillingham Pier followed by a talk by a member of the Medway Queen Preservation Society, as well as what is sure to be an interesting tour of the vessel.

We will convene for drinks at the Ship and Trades Hotel afterwards, all attendees are welcome.

If you wish to stay overnight, a couple of accommodation options are listed for you below.

On Sunday there will be a tour of the Chatham Historic Dockyard for those who are interested.

The Medway Queen was built in 1924 and the vessel originally offered holiday trips around Kent before being commissioned by the Navy in 1939.

During the Dunkirk evacuation in 1940, the ship made seven crossings, rescuing up to 7,000 men and downing a German fighter plane.  It is the last of the Thames Estuary paddle steamers and is currently undergoing restoration at Gillingham Pier, Kent, where it also serves as a visitor centre.
