NBOC UK Winter Lunch 2027 - Bookings open end of October

Join us for a very special NBOC Winter Lunch in the heart of Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

This year we have secured the beautiful Princess Royal Gallery, part of the National Museum of the Royal Navy, for what promises to be another memorable NBOC gathering. The Gallery is located within Storehouse 11, an historic Grade I listed building in Portsmouth's Historic Dockyard, and was opened by Her Royal Highness Princess Anne, the Princess Royal. With its impressive naval heritage and large windows overlooking HMS Victory and Portsmouth Harbour, it provides a spectacular setting for our winter get-together.

Members will be treated to a delicious three-course lunch followed by coffee, with the magnificent sight of HMS Victory and the historic Portsmouth Dockyard providing the backdrop.

We're putting this event on the calendar early so that members have plenty of opportunity to plan a full weekend in Portsmouth and make the most of this unique location.

When booking your lunch, you'll have the opportunity to add a Portsmouth Historic Dockyard attraction ticket if you'd like to explore some of the Dockyard's remarkable attractions either before or after the lunch on Saturday or Sunday.

The Mary Rose Museum is a particular highlight. The preserved remains of Henry VIII's famous warship are displayed in an award-winning museum alongside thousands of artefacts recovered from the wreck, offering an extraordinary insight into Tudor life and life at sea.

And then there's HMS Victory, Nelson's famous flagship. She remains open to visitors while undergoing the most extensive conservation project in her 260-year history. The work involves repairing and replacing deteriorated hull timbers and frames, and visitors have the unusual opportunity to see this extraordinary conservation work taking place. The ship remains very much a living project, with the restoration revealing new discoveries as it progresses.

There is plenty more to explore too, including HMS Warrior, HMS M.33, the National Museum of the Royal Navy, the Victory Gallery and the Nelson Gallery. A Historic Dockyard ticket can therefore turn the NBOC Winter Lunch into a fascinating day exploring Britain's remarkable naval heritage.

Getting there

Portsmouth Historic Dockyard is conveniently located at Victory Gate, HM Naval Base, Portsmouth PO1 3LJ. Portsmouth Harbour railway station is only a short walk from the Dockyard entrance, while the official car park is approximately 400 yards from Victory Gate.
